[Crf. 4-2.] 332.—(1) If it appears to the Governor that the peace A.D. 1035, or tranquillity of Burma is endangered by the operations of any persons committing, or conspiring, preparing or attempting to commit, crimes of violence which, in the opinion of the Governor, are intended to overthrow the government as by law established, the Governor may, if y1 he thinks that tlie circumstances of the case require him u' crimes so to do for the purpose of combating those operations, Govern- direct that his functions shall to such extent as may be '*ent specified in the direction be exercised by him in his dis- cretion and, until otherwise provided by a subsequent direction of the Governor, those functions shall to that extent be exercised by him accordingly. (2) The functions imposed on the Governor by this section shall be exercised by him in his discretion. (3) Nothing in this section affects the special respon- sibility of the Governor for the prevention of any grave menace to the peace or tranquillity of Burma or any part thereof. 333.
